MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Brian Watson

I learned to dive in the cold, green water of Puget Sound, and a couple hundred dives at places like Octopus Hole, Sund Rock, Ruston Way and Alki Point taught me patience and attention to detail. Good habits get built in water like that, and they're the ones I teach.

Since 1999 the dives have taken me from Michigan and Ohio to Florida, Aruba, Hawaii and Australia. I've speared fish, explored wrecks and caves, and spent plenty of dives just drifting along and looking around. Every one of them still feels like a door opening.

What I care about most is the person on the other end of the regulator. My goal is to help you become a capable, safe diver who feels confident and comfortable in the water, and to share my passion for protecting the underwater world that makes it all worth doing.

DIVING AS A FAMILY

Teaching families is my favorite part.

I trained my own kids to dive when they turned ten, and we've since explored the water together all around the world. Few things beat surfacing next to your kids and comparing notes on what you just saw.

That's why I run my classes the way I do. Families are welcome to learn side by side, and the small class size means every student gets personal attention, whether they're ten or fifty.

Starting at ten
Young divers can earn their Junior Open Water certification.
Never more than four
A family can fill a class on its own, or join a small group.
No one gets rushed
Parents and kids learn at their own pace, in the same pool and on the same dives.

Why Skeleton Key?

A skeleton key opens any lock. Learning to dive does the same for the underwater world, a place most people never get to see. Our skeleton carries the diver-down flag and a trident because it takes the work seriously and the adventure even more so.

How we teach

Safety first
Every dive is planned, briefed and buddy-checked before anyone gets wet.
Patience
Nobody gets rushed. Skills come at the pace of the student.
Adventure
Diving should be fun. We keep the training serious and the dives rewarding.
Come dive with us.
